We are pleased to announce our October featured guest is Chris Ward, California Assemblymember, 78th District. A little bit about Chris:

Chris Ward was first elected to the California State Assembly in 2020 and re-elected in 2022 to represent the 78th Assembly District, which includes San Diego and El Cajon. He currently serves as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, and Tourism and Chair of the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus. He also leads the Select Committee on Biotechnology and Medical Technology.

A dedicated legislator focused on solving California’s most pressing challenges, Assemblymember Ward champions policy on housing access, homelessness, climate action, water resilience, and responsible budgeting.

His accomplishments include authoring legislation to launch California’s first community solar program, curb the spread of ghost guns, expand the behavioral health workforce, improve transparency around government use of automated decision-making, and prohibit discrimination in mixed-income housing developments.

Transportation Details to San Diego Made Factory

**When you arrive at San Diego Made Factory, enter the building at the 21st Street entrance. There is a yellow door up a set of stairs, which is where our meeting is.**

Our meeting location that is short walk from trolley stops, and right off the 5 freeway:

• Central + South Bay residents: SDM is easy to reach via car or public transportation. Free street parking is available. 
• East County residents: Take the Orange Line Trolley to 25th & Commercial Street station. SDM is a 5-minute walk from the stop. 
• North County Coastal residents: Take the Coaster to Old Town or Santa Fe station. Then take the Blue Line Trolley to Barrio Logan station. SDM is a 10-minute walk from the stop.
